Toolbox-Tonneau Combo?
Toolbox-Tonneau Combo?
According to Ford order tracking site, my 2022 F450 Lariat Ultimate has shipped with a dealer delivery window of 7-13NOV! I'm looking for a toolbox+rollup tonneau that, when rolled up, will still let me see my gooseneck ball using my bed camera AND access the toolbox latch to open without having to roll up the tonneau and climb in the bed. Single latch to open from the driver side would be ideal. My current ride is a '19 F250 with the Ford OEM rigid roll-up tonneau and I really like that one, so I'd really prefer to go with a rigid roll-up cover like that to make it knife-proof!
Any recommendations?
FYI I live in the DFW area (Grapevine), so any reputable local sources who will sell+install are appreciated!

this is what i went with american work cover jr. on my 19 ccsb,
a long bed may be diffrent based on distance from front of bed to hitch center than shortbed.
if you get the full size toolbox the width of it becomes a issue doing what you want.
there isnt much room in the toolbox as it is over the cannister, but gives a little room for tiedown straps and wrenches

I was looking into the American Work Cover (not Jr, it only provides 5" deep X 8 or 10" wide box). Called them and found that their lead time is 12-14 weeks and they are no longer offering the LineX coating since that was adding another few weeks to the lead time due to chemical shortages. I was hoping to get one before ski season opened. They have 2 handles but either one opens the lid, they also have a acuators and a light that can be added to lock/unlock with the factory keyfob and the light can wire in to work with any group of lights you want (i.e. bed light, rear cab light...). Think I'm going to go with a DiamondBack HD and a Voodoo rack system. It'll cost more, but hopefully modifiable enough to make it all work for me.
I had a Roll n' Lock on my last truck, and it was fantastic compared to the old vinyl roll up covers I've had over the years. But it, didn't allow room for a tool box which kinda sucked. It also required a lot of maintenance, probably due to where I live (humid and lots of trees). I was frequently cleaning debris out of the can and pulling a round brush through the drain tubes to keep mildew and mold from growing in them. It also allowed a little more water to run into the bed than I figured it should.
