Local dealer (same county where I live) is currently listing a 2016 F-350 4x4 SRW CCLB, Lariat Ultimate, 6.7L PS, 3.55 locker, Green Gem over Caribou, Adobe leather interior, Snow Plow Pack, customer-purchased Cooper Discoverer STT Pro tires on factory 20s, among others - 61,606 miles. Dealer pictures show it's clean and sharp. The dealership website also includes the original window sticker since it's a Ford... MSRP $68,405. How much are they asking?
$57,082
Just 17% less than original sticker for a 5 year old (technically 6, since the 2022 models are out). And the manufacturers are collectively saying they don't expect the new vehicle pipeline to be fully back to normal until possibly this time next year. If you've got a clean rig that you're considering parting with, now is the time!

The fact is the value of your $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ is in the toilet! And they just keep printing more. Don’t expect change any time soon!
It's basic economics- supply and demand. Once businesses started shutting down due to COVID (and countries forcing businesses to shutter production), the intelligent people knew that there would be supply chain issues 12+ months later. Yet people accused them (us) of being flippant to the well-being of their employees (which is utter nonsense). There's a domino affect since parts are needed to create other parts. An 8 month delay of one part causes a 12 month delay for another part, and so on.
It'll take a while to subside. At least another 12 months, with large improvements in 18 months.
As Dave says, it's all about supply and demand. This goes for everything right now across the board. Consumer spending is up and supply can't keep up with the demand.
My neighbor called last night to tell me about a '16 chevy 2500 duramax with 54K on it he looked at. Lot is asking $79k...that's insane. If you don't have to have it, wait, you'll save thousands. I'd say 18 - 24 mos.
