new here...got a few q's
sorry if im diggin up old topics to post on...u know lookin for my kinda info.
i have a 79 f100 explorer/custom
302/ 2bl c4 all i really know(im not a mechanic, but im gettin close)
i got this truck 3 1/2 years ago and i had some trouble at 1st, it sat in the desert for 3 years b4 i bought it. overall i like it, its better than the 70' f100 i had in highschool...long ago(i havent blown it up). seems like every year some attack of mass braekage occurs. timig chain, then emmision system, now the waterpump bypass corrosion has rotted the cork under the intake maniflold.
which brings me to these forums. what the hell is the pipe from the air check valve to the back of the heads called? i cracked mine tryin to get some room to manuever, and want to see if its cost effective to buy a new one, as im sure all the junkyard ones r thrashed too.
anyhow 22years and its time for a new one now, im gonna rebuild this truck chunks at a time. i've found all the other info i was missing on this forum, like vacuum schematics, and VIN codes.
