Amazon seems to be reselling returns more often lately -- and they're fairly careless about it. I've gotten a couple of items that were obviously reshipped.
The first was a microwave -- and I should have seen it coming. I ordered it on a Sunday -- and they delivered it the same day!. It does seem to work OK, but it was definitely a repack. There were unpacking instructions that had the oven packed in a certain way and they were very specific about how to remove it. Only mine was in upside down and only had one of the four corner pieces to hold it in place.
Then today I got a Bluetooth headphone. It was in a box with bubble wrap -- and the device itself was just bubble wrapped -- not in a box. There was one plastic protector on one of the earpieces. To top that off it doesn't reliably pair. Guess that's why someone else sent it back.
I'm wondering if they do any checking on returns or just ship them to the next sap.
If you order through Amazon warehouse, items can be like you described, usually at a discounted price.
I've not gotten anything like that through the regular Amazon.
If a product is still like new, just returned, i don't care if they send it to me.
I ordered 84 portable radios recently, and it was not hard to tell that 2 of them were returns. Didn't care at all, they are just as good as the rest are.
To me it makes sense that they resell a return if still like new.
It does make sense to resell, but I don't think that they bothered to check these items before shipping them back out. They should open them up and verify that everything is there and not broken -- including instructions. The microwave was packed bass ackwards from what it was supposed to be and I was lucky that I didn't damage it when I unpacked it. ( There were specific instructions on how it should be unpacked). The headphones weren't in a box of their own and may well have been missing items.
I believe Amazon has reached that high plateau where a successful business becomes so huge and laden with bureaucracy and "systems" it lapses into more and more incompetencies. Recently I reloaded a gift card for myself, used it to make a purchase, saw the amount had been deducted and then started receiving notices I needed to pay for those items?????
Speaking to them on the phone they couldn't see how or way part of the funds they already had in hand was still showing as unpaid???? So their solution was to refund my money from a purchase about 3 months prior to cover their mistake. I guess I profited about $20 but still came away highly disappointed at their inability to keep track of the monies.
