Fuel Pump

I have a 94 4.0 extended length AWD Aerostar. There is a somewhat high pitched wine comming from under the middle of the van. Does that sound like the fuel pump going. Any one had any experiences with Aerostar fuel pumps?

Thanks,
Ray

Normal pump noise - should whine for about 3-4 seconds when the key is turned to the start position, then stop. Just pressurizing the fuel rails.

Well, I can here it whining while the engine is running. My son can here it while in the car. I, with my poorer hearing, can only here it when I'm outside the car, but this is with the engine running.

Still okay. Mine's been doing that for years with no problems. Either I'm losing my hearing also or I've just gotten used to the noise. I too, only notice it when the wife drives the van and I'm outside on the driveway as she goes past. Our dogs however, can hear it coming a mile away - I always wondered how they knew..........
