I picked up my aluminum camper shell a few weeks ago, I choose aluminum due to its light weight for ease of removal and installation as I do take take it on and off several times a year, and the lower purchase price. I wanted some better lighting in the shell but still wanted to use the same circuit and function as the oem led box lights. I spliced into the led box light wire (white) on the passenger side behind the bumper, and ran this up to a 4 way trailer connector in the bed, along with a chassis ground and the center high mount stop lamp wire. I used the Rough Country rock lights for the cap, I am very satisfied with the illumination. I have better outdoor duty self stick cable tie holders on order as the ones from Menards were a pos. Just putting this here if others are looking for something similar. Philip.
