1969 360 Question????
Ok,
I got a friend who works with a guy that is selling a 1969 360 with 65k miles on a rebuild. He wants 800$ for it,Was wondering how good this price was? And i want this engine to put in my 65' f-100,but I thought 800$ was a little bit pricey for a 69' with 65k on rebuild.
I called around to some local auto salvage places and they said that he would be lucky to get 300$ out of it.
Any help would be apreciated.

$800 may be a bit much. For one, you dont know how it was taken care of. If you're looking for a rebuildable core, a junkyard engine may be the best route. Either way you'll end up spending about $800, so why not get a 390 or a 428, or if you're lucky a 427, and a new motor with your money?
Just watch out if you're gonna rebuild one, you can get into the trap of making it too expensive really easy. Just get the rebuild kit and do it the less expensive way. Dont start thinking "Oh, I need a big cam, and a forged whatever, and to make up for the big cam rocker stands, intake, big carb, arp bolts, whatever...
Unless you're building a race engine or like a LOT of power.
