Resistor "chip" worth anything?

Resistor "chip" worth anything?
I go on Ebay and see all of these so called "Power Chips" that are actually nothing but a little $.50 resistor. Has anyone ever tried one and are they worth my effort. I am not looking for a huge increase, but I don't want to pay $5-30 for a set of directions and a resistor that I can get at radioshack! If they are decent, does anyone know that ohm value of the resistor and how exactly it goes in my F-150?

I bought one once and would advise you not to waste the time/effort/money. It's just a flimsy resistor and I found it practically impossible to install it per the crappy directions given. When I finally got it to stay put, i noticed NO difference. I think this is just a huge scam....my 2 cents...

I have pretty much heard that they are not worth the money and I wouldn't ever consider it. If you are set on it, search the internet and you should be able to find a site with the instructions and the type of resistor to buy from Radio Shack. Basically what it does is trick the computer into thinking it's getting colder air and the computer adjusts the timing and supposedly gives better power.
