Hello all. Local Craigslist add. Seller has a grill guard from a 74 F250 4x4. What is the FRONT frame measurement for that truck? Will it bolt on to the 79 F250 front frame? I do not want to modify at this time just bolt on.
37.56 wide in the front. Is it a old style cattle guard like the 1st pic or a "Cactus Pusher" like in the 2nd pic? Also if it is designed to match the curvature of the front bumper front edge on a 73-76 it is more rounded overall and is different than a late 77-79 that has the flat front edge.
That bracket set up is kinda looks like the one (black one) I had on my red truck, you have to take the nut off the main leaf spring mount bolt and tap the bolt in a bit to get the brackets slid on and then tap the bolt back out and nut back on. I had tabs for the top bumper bolt only.
The tabs on that one (on the inside) look like they will fit using the one lower bolt.
I have since found an old school chrome one.
Bottom line the 73-79 front frame width should be the same.
