So old Limey didn't have a grille shell when I got it. I am at the point now where I am reinstalling one I found in the bed of the parts truck that was in decent enough shape, for now. All the brackets were available but have a fitment question now. Here's what I am working with:
Bare front Said Grille shell Bracket for grille shell... Grille edge. bracket edge... does this tuck inside the grille or just sit flush against it?
So maybe my question might be better answered with another pic? The shell mounts are pretty self explanatory everywhere else but the upper part. Does that bracket edge tuck up into the grille or does the edge of the grille shell just sit against it?
I know, it's a dumb question, but I hadn't had one and didn't have the fortune of disassembling it when it was intact the way it was supposed to go. Any help is much appreciated, or even better a pic of an assembled one.
not sure how to word it correctly but the ear on the bracket goes inside the rolled edge of the shell. i loosely mount that bracket to the shell then mount it all together
X2 on the rounded ear/corner grey piece goes BEHIND and inside the kinda bent up and worked over corner. The grill top lip goes over the grey tab with the 2 clip on nut plates. Easier to loosen it up or take it off all together and then install on the grill shell and work it in before finial tighten down. I'd take it off 1st and test fit the ear in the corner, in case you have to work the grill over a bit more. Easier to do that with it off the truck. Also start the vertical line in the front of the fender. With the side marker light out of the fender you can see and to be able to easy access the very top one with the ratchet/extension.
2 holes in grill line up with arrows and nut plates on the bracket. UNDER the red line. Grey rounded tab goes in (and behind the lip) of red rounded circle.
