I received my Hydra today which is awesome but OMG there are so many tunes. I have no idea what to choose.
My truck is lightly modified but not highly - IDM mod, 4" exhuast, Cold air intake, riffraff turbo wheel..... The transmission has been rebuilt with shift kit, new pump, billet torque converter - I see modified valve body in the tunes but I don't know if my valve body is different or not?
Anything there for maybe 'tow' and no trans tuning?
I am guessing tow does around 15rwhp/30rwtq on my dually. Downpipe seems to be good for 15-20rwhp from other dynos I have seen and Banks claims 40rwhp with their 'Git Kit' which is a DP and a chip. I seem to squeeze 20-21psi area out on that, stock has clipped 17psi lately a few times. Never really paid much attention after my Adrenaline HPOP install as I drive without gauges almost always and sane. I have many more mods though, no IC and stock injectors.
No clue how the file library is setup with Hydra. Just tossing out ideas and such.
VB mods in a tune are most likely going to simply up the line pressure...which yours should have already. The other shifting mods may increase full throttle shift points, part throttle points, converter lock timing, etc. Tough to say without knowing what was done.
Large TransGo kit (the HD2 for E4OD) should have the larger boost valve, the large Superior kit does. The smaller Superior kits have the option for the larger boost valve, per my calipers it is 0.092" larger. Do not know if the smaller TG does or does not.
Hopefully someone else will post that has far more experience with the Hydra. I know its basics and that is it.
That's a start, I sure appreciate it - I found the receipt for the trans it tells what all they put in. I don't know much about transmissions honestly - says Major rebuild kit, update kit, bushing pump body babbitt .760 wide 66-up, Billet Torque converter 6 stud single disc low stall, valve and sleeve - line pressure modulator .372, rebuilt pump.
