Nice! I heard nothing but great things about red tops. Just a quick question. I heard of guys swapping 05+ steering gears for a tighter turning radius. Is this true?

Pal has one on his 89 F150. It felt very nice!

My dually needs a box with 280k on it, we will see how loose the 4.9 is with about 320k once it is on the road.

I'd like to get a redhead box myself. I just don't want to ship my current box out first.

I talked to them they had plenty in stock for my 95 f150 they shipped mine cross country for 35 bucks and then my core goes back for 35 bucks i payed the 70 in advance and they send a shipping label for your core . The core charge is 100 returned when yours gets there ,my box was 280 plus 70 for shipping so I thought that was reasonable since I'm on east coast

Looking like Ace Ventura dropped it off when it finally arrives lol.

So figure 450 ish up front for the box, core,, and shipping both ways. Then 100 back on core. Not bad at all. Might look into it a bit more after the move.

Is anybody here running a bluetop? I’ve heard good things about them and that redhead quality is hit or miss in recent years.

Six of One, Half-Dozen of the other. I consider them both to be roughly equal, having used both. I just tend towards RedHead, because I live close enough that I can literally drive down there, when I need a box. But if they don't have one, or are too busy to get to what I need in a timely fashion, I use Bluetop. I've never regretted either.

It's one of the few "good" things about living where I do. Overall, I'd rather be somewhere else.

I'm not positive of differences blue or red I know red machines out the bushings and goes with bearings and I'm thinking blue still installs bushing .I would think either is good but thinking bearings are going wear better but maybe not anyway to late I'm going red
