F150 options package availability by year?
The owner doesn't seem to know much about it except that the title is missing.
I know my way around my state's DMV and can get titles for abandoned vehicles.
I'm trying to do a little more research before hitching up the trailer and going out to tow this rig in.
It's advertised as a 1999.
HOWEVER, the truck is clearly a Super-Crew cab with full size rear doors; not suicide doors.
From my research, I found that the Super-Crew came out in the 2000 or 2001 model year.
I figured it's an early production and the date code on the sticker might be late 1999.

The bed has "Lariat" and "FX4" stickers on it.
Lariat is confirmed, as the front door has a keypad on the handle.
FX4 package didn't come out until 2002 if I'm not mistaken.

I've emailed the owner to try and get a VIN.
2001 was the first year of the true four-door truck and came with the off-road package as well. (See above as Ford did call the FX4 the off-road package)
If it has 1999 on the door jam SN/VIN it would be one rarer truck as it got out of the test lab by accident or someone has changed the VIN numbers on this truck.
(Have seen this did before on the VIN numbers) Was at a place picking up an engine and they were pulling the VIN tab and all that to go on a different truck for a guy to place on his truck to make it legal in his state. If you know what you are doing and have a title with the VIN tab and know how to replace it can be done. So I would say look very close at the VIN tab behind the windshield.
Now some history for you:
Up until 2001, the 4.6L V8 was a Winsor and in 2001 they placed the D24D (D23D was a car engine) Remeo PI engines into trucks and Expeditions that year with the power-induced heads coil on each sparkplug which gave them more HP and TQ. (Note: this engine was in the F150 up until the 2009 year as they went to the 4.6 3 valve engine) Also, they went to the single gas line to the engine with no return line and changed the injectors depending on the month of production, but used the same coils up until 2009 year. Mustang got this engine later and I want to say the 2002 or 2003 year model. Now the intake on these is different depending on if it was in an Expedition or F150 as the throttle body set sideways, fly by wire (later engines) and the controls ran behind the engine to them and not in front like the other engines on the Expedition. The F250 up has the same setup on them for the gas engines. The intakes set higher or lower (the runners) depending on which vehicle they were in and if they were in the truck you have to use a truck intake for the throttle linkage hookup.
I wouldn’t even bother at this point, just starting with missing title.
Could be a spammer, scammer or someone with way more sinister ideas for all we know.

For $700 (I was gonna try and talk them down to $500) I figure I'd take that gamble.
I frequently scour the local ads for cars and trucks for under a grand and see what I can flip.
Someone swooped in and got it already.
