So I recently bought a 96 F350 Dually off Copart and had it shipped back across the pond to the UK. I am new to fords and diesels I'm more a Mopar guy have a 2004 Ram 1500 Hemi and a '87 Chevy R30 Dually 454 (& 1 '69 Charger!!). Anyway I paid 675 dollars for the F350 and I know it had some issues. It has done 320k miles!
Firstly I managed to get it running not being sure if it would or not she struck up and sounds beautiful! I will eventually probably 4x4 swap it but I'll have to come over to get parts.
When I did get it I saw on the doors around where the key lock is it said Centurion. I had never heard of them before and when I opened the pickup up it had leather seats with Centurion on and had an emblem engrained in the wood on both doors and an overhead console with Centurion on as well. So my question is- how can I tell if it is a genuine Centurion? And does anyone sell parts for them as the wood on the doors has faded badly and broken in places?
Centurion was a conversion company that took Ford trucks and added to them, making trucks that Ford did not offer from the factory. They are no longer in business. I believe they were purchased by another company, but I do not recall who. With all the badges on your truck, it is safe to say that it is a true Centurion conversion truck.
As mentioned, there is no place to really buy those parts. They were pretty much tailor made for each truck as the different Centurion vehicles I've seen have had slightly different consoles designs.
You can occasionally find decals and mudflaps and such for sale but thats about it. You have better luck talking to a cabinet maker or the like to have them refinish or craft new replacement panels. That's my plan.
Centurion are pretty rare too. Where's the pictures of your truck?
Ok thanks I did read up a lot about the Centurion after I realised just some have Centurion badges on bonnets/hood and the tailgate but mine doesn't! Am trying to post the pictures!
That definitely has all the Centurion bits. Needs some tlc for sure. There's no real way of knowing since they were some times converted after being sold to a customer, sometimes dealers special ordered them.
With the actual company gone, it's hard to get any solid info. I believe they were bought out by Southern comfort (not the alcohol lol) or something like that.
Mine has the same interior as yours for the most part
Oh yeh that looks brilliant its a shame my top middle seat is missing like yours has. It will do but nothing that can't be fixed! Mines the exact same inside mostly - can you tell me how you got a double din unit in your dash and the CB where its located as it looks brilliant!
Oh well- it looks to me like its a centurion which has been done so that will do me!!
