Hi all, I need to replace the rear driveshaft on my 1976 F250 4x4. The truck has a 390, NP435, and divorced NP205. I don't have my truck with me so I am unable to measure u-joint to u-joint. If anyone can help that would be great. I'm looking to order one so I can install it right away next time I have access to my truck.
This is what I have for you so far. I'll work on it some more tomorrow and post it here. The rear shaft according to the MPC is type 4 and 36 3/8 " long and OD is 2 1/2"
Note : Type 4 is u-joint to spline end.
The length of front and rear drive shafts were the same in all transmission types (np435, T18, and C-6) in the 1976 F-250 4wd 133" wheel base (highboy)
My '76 high boy rear shaft is 40 3/4" . stock suspension measured center to center on the caps.
I have two 76' highboy chassis up on the front of the property I'll walk up later to confirm. I must admit I'm still getting used to this MPC but I'm curious as to the discrepancy. The MPC is showing the rear shaft as having one spline end as in Type 4 above in the diagram is that what you have for the rear shaft?
