Drunk,
The XLT badge primarily represents a trim package. But, they are generally loaded:
Powersteering, power brakes, A/C, tilt wheel, crusie control, dual tanks.
There are others depending on your model. Tow package is a rare option for 150's.
There are a few more that are rare;
Tool box in side of bed. rear defrost window.
The XLT is a trim package designation, to my knowledge. I'm not always correct on the options question.
Kingfisher
I knew it was a trim pkg
for a 74 this truck is pretty well optioned
it has air
no tilt, cruise, or rear window defrost
but I'm pretty sure it does have the tow pkg- its a 8100 gvwr F250
I think the only difference from an F350 is the rear springs
I like the fact that its a ranger- I think that's a cool name- but it's a real, full size truck, not some 4 cylinder toy
these 73-79s just look tough too
thanks
I also think that the ranger xlt had an upgraded interior with woodgrained triming around the guages and glove box door, a plastic insert on the door trim panel, map pockets, carpeted floor, and a fancier headliner with chrome trim.
My 76 ranger xlt also has intermittent wipers, and a cargo light. I'm not sure if the latter two options were Ranger options or the towing package.
yea, i got a 79 f250 4x4 ranger. its got power steering, power brakes and . no cruise,no carpet. it does have the wood grain gloove box. but around the gauges is just black plastic. i'm erstoring it so i can prob change this if i want o and get a new badge that says ranger xlt, haha, no that would be cheating
well i got to thinking and i' also assuming its a xlt . after i wrote that i guess there is no badge that says ranger xlt. so does mine sound like a stripped ranger or what?
My guage trim has woodgrain, but the trim around the glove box is black, so I'm thinkin the paper wood trim fell off there, or a previous owner replaced it
My 77 F250 has the XLT Ranger trim package. All I can think of right off it has: Full carpet, headliner, cargo light, rear slider, wood grain on the dash and steering wheel, fancier door panels, no cruise, no tilt, not sure about intermittant wipers, power steering and brakes. It has full chrome trim on the sides, two tone paint (red and white), chrome bumpers, I think tow package or some kind of heavy service package it has 12 leafs in the rear and 7 in the front, it came with and engine block heater, dual batteries, it seems to have really low gears too I am guessing 4.10s, it has some kind of hydralic ram looking thing hooked to the steering linkage, disc brakes, and it has the divorsed style transfer case. I think I found a diamond in the rough...only cost me 500 bones.
