Just bought a 1956 Mercury rust free big window project, I'm having a problem getting info on the paint code, #28. I see it's listed as Killarney Green, Part # M20J-257-SE. Does anyone know if there is a corresponding Ford color, and what it is? What original paint that is still left looks very similar to 1956 Ford Meadow Mist Green. I seem unable to find any info on 1956 Mercury Killarney Green, although Ford offered a Killarney Green on cars in 1954. The 1954 color is both darker and more blue than remaining paint on the truck. Meadow Mist is my best guess, I'd just like confirmation. Thanks.
I can't answer your question but am curious about your project. I have always been under the impression that there were no M100 big back window pickups produced from the factory.
It's a legit BBW Mercury. An acquaintance owned it since the 70's, he passed away recently. I had expressed my interest in it over a decade ago, his estate offered to sell it to me. Is titled as a Mercury, & vin plate states Mercury (Actually Ford motor company of Canada Limited, Oakville, Ontario, M100 Series 110 Wheel Base). Mercury lettered hood and stamped tailgate. Truck is apart, frame painted, cab has never been altered. Will post pictures in a few weeks.
