I've seen a lot of talk about the passenger side leaking but my fuel leak is coming from the drivers side. It's a pretty significant leak coming from somewhere above the up-pipe but below the valve cover. I can't see anything leaking from anywhere except from somewhere directly above where the up-pipe and the exhaust manifold bolt up. Anyone have any idea where it could be coming from
The fuel line splits off of the banjo bole and runs down the each head. I would say the connector to the fuel rail from the fuel line is loose, or the olive seal is bad.
I just completed a fuel leak repair on my 1996 F250 7.3 about 2 weeks ago. It took me a while to locate the source of the leak.
My issue was: when I would park, I notice it would start dripping fuel from in front of the oil pan or in that general area. It was a slow, but steady drip that was very identical to an air conditioner drip. It would always leave a small puddle wherever I parked.
I initially thought it was the "banjo bolt" and tightened it, but it did not stop the leak. After further research, I found out that our mechanical fuel pumps have a small weap hole on the side of the housing that leaks when the pump fails.
Have you looked under the hood, right below the turbo, in the middle valley? If there is a fuel collecting in the valley, it might be the fuel pump or fuel pump lines.
