New Owner

I just purchased my 1966 Econoline Pickup. Being a Chevy guy I will have a LOT of questions knowing nothing but the basics of a Ford. That said I liked this truck so much I could not refuse the chance to buy it. I'm a 66 year old retiree single Dad and car nut in North Carolina. Glad to be here amongst you.

Not a whole lot for me to do that isn't already done. 302 with AOD. Needs a 9" rear, I got a fuel Cell for it and some Zoomies. It will be my EDD once those are done + Cruize In's. I don't like "car shows" so I won't be building a show truck. It's NOT FOR SALE though I would TRADE for a #Lead Sled

Well there was far more than anticipated. First things first, Electric Fan, need to keep this ol' Girl cool. Next have to have the doghouse repaired as I can't find anything used,NOS or repop! Followed by Everyone's favorite the ungodly ratsnest of wiring. FUN, FUN,

FUN.

I’m about to start a complete re-wire myself. My truck is a conglomeration of 60 year old wire and various poor repairs and additions. Maybe we can help each other along the way.

I have a big box full of brand new wire, terminals, connectors, and fuse boxes. Also a new turn signal system, electric fan system, and so on… I’m going to install a fuse block in the doghouse, and another under the dash.

I'm seriously considering "painless wiring" . Don't exactly know what I'm going to do yet.

I used an EZ wire kit on my 49 F1. It was pretty simple and direct. It also had the added bonus of being cheaper than the painless.
