68 302 Starter nut thread size???
I have a 68 302 and I lost both nuts off the post that sticks out of the starter where the positive battery cable attaches. I checked the threads and it looks like 20 thread pitch and 5/16 but that is proving impossible to find.

Try a std thread 5/16 nut. Sometimes that brass stud's threads get bugged up, making it hard to get the nut on

I like to use brass nuts on starters and solenoids.It prevents the rust seizing the parts together, resulting in ruined parts when trying to dismantle.
They're better conductors than steel as well.
