Dave it sounds like some running back and forth today for work?

Remember when you were here and I mentioned my F100 horn relay and thinking it might be the cause of truck battery going dead when it sits for a week or longer? Well after pulling it, I can say that the truck sat for 2 weeks and when I got in it, it showed 12.1 volts and cranked right up. So I think that was it.

One more thing, regarding my Mustang dying out every time I put it into "Drive". Then it happened one time the next day after I thought I had fixed it, so I asked you to jump out and give me a hand, at which time it refused to act up again? Well I was thinking the likely suspect might be the vacuum modulator in the trans, so I ordered one from Autozone and should arrive later today. So I will replace that tomorrow.

Good to hear you found what was some what causing the battery to go dead.
I say "some what" as I would like to know why it was causing it to do that?
I am pretty sure it has power to 1 side, other to the horn(s) and the other to the horn button on the wheel that I think grounds the system to make the horn blow.

Did the horn work or even hooked up?
If the horn did not work or hooked up I could see the relay being closed and draining the battery.
A test light would tell if the horn did not work or hooked up See if there is power to the wire to the horn.

On the Stang and the vacuum modulator was the ATF in the trans going low?
If you pull the hose off the valve was there ATF there?
If it was really bad white smoke would be blowing out the tail pipes.
We can talk about it today at MoJo's if it will stay running for you to bring it.

The horn was working fine after I replaced the column with one I restored and added a new steering wheel. But one afternoon not long after, I went out to get in the truck and the horn button was popped off. It was just sitting right there on the seat. So I couldn't imagine that someone would come over to my house, open the truck door, and pop off the horn button, and since it is spring loaded I imagined that I most likely did not have all 3 **** completely snapped underneath the plate. Which would mean that when it gave up and popped off, the horn would have started blowing, and I would naturally just sleep right through that and the horn would continue to blow until it burned out. So even with the horn burned out the relay is still excited by the signal it receives on the circuit and I think that's where I'm at now.

If the relay was pulled in and the horns kept blowing till they burned out as you said then you are right the relay would still be pulled in and killing the battery.
Test light or volt meter would show if thats true.
