DEF Fault P218F
2021 truck with 1800 miles and it threw this error tonight. Told me 50 miles to 50% power. The little orange icon above the compass direction went on, but was off by the time I arrived at my destination. Does that mean the fault cleared? I have to tow this week and dealer is booked for a few weeks. Thoughts? Right now I see no malfunction indicators on my dash. Only code reader saw error.

P218F Reductant No Flow Detected
Could be a clogged DEF injector.
If the code went away, it may have just cleared itself of the restriction.
Does the truck sit a lot?
DEF crystalizes when it dries out, but will immediately return to solution once wetted, either by water or more DEF.

So the truck has been throwing this code consistently now. 20 times to be exact on a 180 mile tow. I even get it occasionally driving around unloaded. Have an appointment with the dealer in 2 weeks. MIL is illuminated 100% of the time now, just the miles to cripple warning light clears on its own. 2,200 miles and in service for 2 months.

The timing is on my end. Heading out of town next week for work, so it will be siting at the airport collecting dust and tumbleweeds.

Yep just heard from them. Faulty DEF injector. New onw should be here today, so hopefully have it back tomorrow

Keep an eye on this. They had to replace my DEF pump and lines. Injector looked good. The dealer said this was the second 2021 that came in like this. He said they ended up replacing the entire system in the end but Ford would only let them do certain parts at a a time.
