Aux door speaker

I have a 1990 F250 Reg Cab Custom. The doors bottom outside corner has a vented area. Has anyone stuck a 6x9 or such speaker down there, or am i being a dummy? The truck has nothing but the little 5 1/4 door speakers.

I don't see why you couldn't. I think the only thing I might be worried about, with a speaker in that location would be water getting on it from the backside, as the door isn't sealed, and isn't meant to be.

I put 8" subs in my '89 in that spot, they made the doors rattle pretty good.
