Warm Start Issues - 82 F150
Even though I don't own any gassers I do work on other people's. The more modern gas rigs must be set up better for starts. On board computers do all the guess work and modern cars the instructions are bump the key, but that's because the computer is adjusting fuel air ratios. EFI has been refined since the old carb and EFI transition days.

When I lived in CT I would of needed to drive 50 miles just get it then 50 miles back.If that was in my pickup that would be 1/3 of a tank and just would not pay to do that.
Now down here in NC there is a station not even a mile from home that had ethanol free gas but I dont feel the need for it in my truck at this time.
With EFI the hot start is not an issue like it is with use still running carbs.
You know I dont think I have seen any posts from the EFI guys / gals having hot start issues?
I wonder what this ethanol gas is doing to the early EFI systems?

Very hot weather is where it shows that it's a carb. Runs fine unless you park it and go in the store. Come out and it will fire right up, but it idles a little slow and rough, and like someone else said, a little rev with the pedal for a couple of seconds clears it out and it's ready to go. If you noticed all the weird carbed/computer systems they had all used electronic control for the idle speed with a little motor on the throttle. I bet they tuned these little idiosyncrasies out with that.

They have an app too. But click on your state to see what's available in your area.
Yea run that in your tank and you wont be driving much as you will not have money to put in the tank LOL
Now down here in NC you can get ethanol free at about every corner and it is maybe a little higher than Reg. pump gas.

The place in Stamford has VP racing fuel as do most of the other places in CT that I looked at.
I did not check NY as I dont live up there now but just wanted to see if it had changed. It has as it list the racing fuel now it did not 7 years ago.
Just a thought on the racing fuel if anyone goes that route most are leaded and should not be run on cars / trucks with a cat.
They do make a un-leaded racing fuel, at least I have seen it at the drag strips, I just dont know if the places carry it?
