96 f250 . Runs great on start fluid. New fuel tank , new fuel filter , new fuel pump , new and tested tps, new fuel regulator , new injectors. Unplug an injector have pulse with test light. Put screwdriver on injector hear clicking. No start. No smell of fuel in tail pipe. Took out computer no obvious burns or leaky capac. New plugs , new cap , new rotor , new wires , new vac lines , new egr. Ummm... oh fuel pressure at 35 on gauge. I think that's everything. Pulling hair at this point . Any thing I'm overlooking ? Runs like a kitten purring on start fluid if it's sprayed correctly. Was running rough when first got it . Progressively got worse through about 50 miles. Anyway I wanna light a match.

When the fuel pump does not run short pin #2 to pin #6 of the self-test plug and turn on the key. The fuel pump should run until the key is turned off. If it does the computer is more than likely bad.
If it does not run then short pin #6 of the self-test plug to a ground point and turn on the key. If the fuel pump runs now you have a bad ground through the computer to the body ground point
Those test are for non running pump. Have you tried starting it on both pumps? To clarify, when it starts with starter fluid does it continue to run on its on or does it die of fuel starvation?
Turn key on fuel pumps either one run for 2 seconds shut off. When I said pretty sure pumps are running I ment I've read lots up on it and they do what everyone says they should. Yes after you stop the start juice it dies of fuel starvation. While I had fuel rails off I cycled the key a few times to look at the volume coming out. Seemed like plenty. Actually some of the fuel went into the injector hole and you could hear some of it trying to ignite even with the injectors out. I even spun it over with no injectors and let more fuel pour from rails to flush them a bit.
Lets see if your fuel regulator is working. Under hood fuses and relays. Have a helper turn the key on and see if you can hear the regulator clicking. If not swap it out for the other one in there and see if it starts.
The relay is clicking . Fuel pumps come on depending on which is selected as they should. Fuel pressure verified with fuel pressure guage. Just noticed after key is cycled a few times it will pop like it gets a lil fuel when key switch is turned on and off a few times. Also I guess there is a check valve somewhere as the pressure stays on manifold until I unscrew guage a lil bit to bleed it off. Where is that located fuel line at tank ? Pump itself ?
