Floating seat in a SD?
And continues to... fitting the same shallow cab and floor pan of your early 1999, 2000, and 2004 Super Duty trucks.
Only Ford installs these suspension seats in F-650 and F-750 models, if ordered by the customer with them.
The available air suspension seats that fit the low profile "pickup" cabs of the F-650/750 are made by
- National (most common, what Ford uses, more controls)
- Bostrom (said to be more comfortable seat cushioning, widely available, very common)
- Knoedler (least common, least available)
The foregoing list is of air ride suspension seats, but I suspect that you are looking at mechancially suspended seats that do not require air. Both National and Bostrom offer those too, but they can be difficult find and sort out if available or compatible with the low height Super Duty cab. Some mechanically suspended platforms take up more vertical room.
Air suspended seats in the Ford F-650/750 are usually accompanied with air brakes, so on regular workaday trucks, where such a seat is fitted, it is usually found in an F-750, rather than an F-650.
A notable exception in the 1999-2004 era Super Duties was the F-650 Super CrewZer, which came with suspension seats and juice brakes.
