Hello everyone. I've been reading this forum for a couple months now, doing research before I fill out the order sheet. One thing I've searched and can't find is about operation of the 360 camera. I have a fairly wide garage door at 106", but know I won't quite be able to fit unless I fold the mirrors. Easy to do that, since I plan on ordering the Powerscope mirrors. My problem is with backing out. I'll have no mirrors to do that since they're folded, so I planed on ordering the tow assist/360 camera option to use backing out.
My question is...do the cameras at the base of the mirror still work when the mirrors are folded? If not, I'll need to create some sort of mirror deal so I can look up and see sides of truck as I back out.
Yes they still work they are at the base of the mirror bracket and don’t move. I highly recommend get the 360 camera. Helps a ton with parking. I mainly use to to make sure I am between the lines.
Yes, they still work, .
I fold my mirrors every day. ( I back into my garage)
I find that I can see better, if I change my back up camera view to Just the tailgate camera, vs the view with mirrors & tailgate cameras.
Since the garage may only be lit with garage door opener bulbs, which is dimmer, the tailgate only view is much brighter and clearer.
How easily can the 360 setup be retrofit in a 2022? I don't need it and wouldn't pay that much for a cool little trinket, but if I can do it myself for fairly little coin, I could add a couple cameras and change some stuff in ForScan.
Anyone know what to do?
I have it on my 2019 F450, it came on the truck, picture quality is poor and after only 2 years/23k miles my front camera is very cloudy. I have said on here before my wifes 2007 Tahoe with 203,000 miles has better picture quality. Pass on it.
I've seen a few posts talking about the picture quality degrading after a couple years. I'll just replace cameras if it happens. Don't expect it to be HD quality, even my wife's Lexus isn't, just good enough to not run into things as I manuever.
I would have liked to have the cameras, but you have to get the trailer back up assist to get the cameras and that makes for a very expensive option, and I know how to back up a trailer, been doing it for over 40 years.

My 19 has the 360 cam, didn't hesitate on the 22, even with the added increase of the backup assist. Can back up a trailer just fine, but the added cost for the cameras is worth it. Plus, at 60k + for a truck, what's another 1k?? lol

It's quite a bit more than 1K, think it is 1695, and I'm not that cavalier with my money.
Folding the mirrors has no effect on the 360 camera operation. The cameras are on the mirror base that does not move when the mirrors are folded. I do it every day going in and out of my garage...Fold mirrors and watch 360 camera on screen as I pull in....tight space. Works great.
I do have one follow up question, because in the end, I didn't want to spend $1,600 on a 360 camera (I will never use the trailer backup **** thing), I just feel like I have to because of my garage. Does anyone know how wide the truck is with the mirrors out, but not to the far out extended setting like you are towing? My Tundra is 96", so that leaves me 5" on each side and that's about as close as I want to cut it. Everything I look up says truck width, but not width with mirrors in normal position. If the F350 is below 100" wide, I'll save myself a lot of money on an option I really don't want, but felt like I needed.

I'm pretty sure the width is a good bit less than 100" with the mirrors in.
Road regulations only allow for a maximum width for vehicles of 102", and it's not that wide even with the mirrors extended.
My truck is not here or I could throw a tape across it and get the exact measure.
I have them in my F350. Not a big fan though. Front gamers is so cloudy it’s basically unusable. I can line up in a parking spot using just the rear camera and luckily it’s still nice and clear. Garage parking is not an option for my truck so it’s driveways and the rear camera works just fine for making sure I’m on the edge.
