My 2022 crew cab truck will be arriving soon. It will not have running boards because I decided to buy them on the aftermarket. I’m looking ones that I can wipe my shoes on before getting in. I don’t want any over around $500-$600. Do you guys have any recommendations?
I did the same, ordered my truck without factory running boards.
I bought these and installed them and like them a lot.
Easy install, fit onto the factory studs, don't stick out too far, clean and simple, and very low cost, $238.
You can surely wipe your shoes on them, but they aren't scrape worthy, rubber antiskid top cover on them.
They also have them all black, if you don't like the shiny aluminum.
The Raptor boards are a great choice, super sturdy. I can't imagine thinking that for $5-600 that there was a better value in boards than what the factory offered... For $445 my factory boards look several times more substantial than the $238 ones a couple posts up. I have abused the crap out of the factory ones on my 2012, they are holding up great. The last time I did aftermarket was on a Power Wagon. I destroyed them the first time off road...
I bought a set of these, Dee Zee Rough Step running boards. They’re not sleek, but exceptionally sturdy. A picture from a reviewer of where I bought them.

^^^^^^ Yep. as above for 5th wheel hitch operation and other bed access. The only draw back is getting them clean. It takes a minute to get a rag/brush between all the "piano keys". If I lived in serious snow country I might try those carpet step covers they make for RV steps that wrap around. Might look funny but it would help keep the cab clean.
