Feedback Carb
loosing my patience withe the feedback, My 85 f150 with the 300 . I recently have begun to have problems with the feedback carb and tci.{running way to lean and flacky idle} I plan on converting to a duraspark 2 system but havnt got all the parts . My queston is can i switch the carb without changing the ingnition or will it cuase the computer to go haywire or do i have to change it all in one shot . Plus, what year or model carb will bolt on Anyone Know?

when i changed the motor in my 86 bronco, i used the same carb, but i switched from duraspark ignition to the old style points. reason being, most of the smog controls were removed, and the restrictions here on smog are non existant. i had absolutely no problems with the computer on that swap. hope that helps

I have the feedback carb on my 1984 F150 and have been having the same trouble. My problems are the connectors. Last weekend i spent the whole day opening up each connector cleaning the pins. I got some locktite dialectric grease coated the pins and sockets twisted some of the pins a little until they make good contact. Replaced some of the one Pin connectors like the choke and the oxygen sensor with spade and socket connectors from the auto parts store. Removed the tfi module, cleaned the heat sink recoated it with heat transfer paste (radio shack) and tweaket the pins on the module to make good contact.
Tested the tab and tad solenoid valves.
Fired it up and it is running better then it has in years.
