crewcab ramblings
Had to pull my rear seat to remove the gas tank. I thought the tank was clean but I was having fuel starvation problems. Boy was it dirty. Not real rust but more of a rust sludge and I also found a lot of chrome yellow paint so obviously some factory overspray loosened up over the years and ended up in the bottom of the tank. Anyways the seat was sitting on two wooden blocks. I'm figuring this was NOT factory although it was very well done. Patrick, guys...are your rear seats sitting on wooden blocks? And have any of you crewcab owners ( or for that matter any ford truck owners) ever found line setting tickets in your trucks? If so where?

My rear seat sits on 2 metal spacers about 2 1/4 in tall and the lenth from the front of the seat bolt holes to the rears and those bolt to the some stands that look like the fronts. also the rear seat is stationary. I can take pics and have em to you by tommarrow afternoon. Cool?

Sure Patrick. I think someone added boosters to mine. It's setup like yours but the bottom brackets bolt to a 2"x2" block of tapered hardwood, so the rear seat sits higher than the front. It allows you a pretty good view from the back though. BTW, that white gauge cluster of yours looks wicked. I can't wait to see your truck up and running!

I can't see putting the seats any higher in the back than original like mine, I'm sure because the 68 2wd crew in the backyard has the same spacers. Thanks on the guages they make a big differance even though I'm not driving it yet but hey I'm not gonna say I havent gone in there and pretend i was crusin.LOL I'll have a pic of those spacers to ya soon.
