Howdy all. Haven’t posted in awhile but I had a thought today- I have a 1960 Mercury Monterey with a 460 from a mid 70s f250 and a c6 transmission to match. I finally got all the engine quirks, mostly it overheating, sorted out.
Im waiting for new leaf springs and was just thinking about what else could go wrong.
How reliable is the c6 transmission? Any problems with longevity ?

The C6 was an excellent transmission , on par with the TH400 and 727. while everything can have problems and wear out your C6 should have nothing unusual to worry about.
When handled properly the C6 is very reliable and durable. You could do a filter (screen) and fluid change if it's never had one. Be sure to use the correct fluid type.
