I needed to register a salvaged 1990 Ford E-350 Tioga Arrow RV in California. I did all required inspections: brakes, light, smog. Today i tried to get VIN verified. The guy at DMV could not locate 'Federal safety label'. I believe it is a metal plate. It doesn't look like anything was removed. The RV has something that looks like a label, but apparently it was not it. I was told to go to CHP in San Jose, CA. CHP said they are booked for 2+ months and do not take any appointments.
All my inspections will expire in 2 months.
Any idea where this label should be located?
Any advises on what to do in this situation?

More info: this RV was made for California, was previously registered in California.

Did you look in other places inside the motorhome? My Fleetwood was manufactured here in Canada, and there is a paper plate pasted, produced by Fleetwood, to the inside of a kitchen cabinet door listing the equipment and weights etc. Not sure if this is what you are looking for.
