do it your self

ford's are fairly easy with some 12 volt exp.
main thing to access wiring coming fron ing switch
find a good ground, hook to brake wire then run wire to neg side coil.
hope that sounds easy!! might take ya an hour or so.
i suggest solder no scocth locks. solder under hood tach!
most shops hook up with life warr for about $150

Yeah, just follow the instructions. Would suggest you get a test light in order to confirm the wires because the color codes seem to change. I agree that solder is the best , but it does make a long job even longer, especially working up under the dash. I've had good results with the Scotch locks, but be sure to get the real 3M ones, and only use the proper ones for whatever wire gauge is involved. Anything under the hood, I would solder and tape (or shrink tube).

It does get harder if you have the PATS key and/or other theft protection.

get a butane powered soldering iron
I got one for $20, and it makes doing it right so much easier
no cord to drag
shrink tube is nice too

i've hooked up over 2000 remote starters

on a 90 ford, once you get to the ignition swith harness
2 yellow wires, hot all the time
1 red green wire, hot when ya crank it
1 wire red blue, starter
2 grey yellow wire, acc for ac and such
maybe black green, for ac
thats all in ignition harness
brown for park lights, at buzz box or wiring thru firewall
light green for brake, at brake switch- shuts off remote stater
tan yellow at coil for tach sens- maybe-dark green yellow 90
if power door locks relays are required.
make sure wires don't touch when testing as disconnecting battery might make job harder
i can't tell ya any easier way.
if ya only use a test light you will be fine, always test wires.
have fun- do it yourself, and don't forget to read directions.
i hate reading directions without pictures

FWIW...I asked a friend at a shop about the difficulty of installing these. He said it was a relatively modest effort UNLESS you're installing a combo remote starter/alarm system, in which case, you'll need to know your way around your vehicle's electrical system a lot better.
