Heat shield question

The heat shield above the cats. on the '86 are making this annoying rattle and squeak sound. It's enough to drive me insane. I know where it's rattling and squeaking. The shields are a bit loose on one side. Now, what can be done to make the racket stop? They aren't the easiest things to access, either. I have no idea on how to get them back up tight (no screw/bolt holes). I was thinking of going to a body shop and having them figure it out, but I don't care to spend the cash. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

put a sheet metal screw thew it into somthing above it. Just make sure that you r not screwing into any wires or anything. I dont think a short sheet metal screw will hurt the underside of your car. if you are worring about a leak put some silicone on there.

By the way is the sheet metal rusting through where it was attached before. that is what happened on my 92 bronco.

From what I can tell it is only rivetted on one side. The entire length of the "inside" is hanging loose. Not a single rivet. I was thinking that maybe a body shop could stick some rivets in there. I'm gonna check prices just for the heck of it.

I have no idea why the shield is free on the one side. Just one of those things, I guess.
