headlight and running light issues
FIXED!!!!
97 ferd f 250 HD 7.3 powerstroke
Having strange issues with my lighting circuit. I have swapped out 3 different headlight switches. one from ferd dealer, 1 from amazon and 1 from rockauto. I have either headlights or running lights, never both in the headlight position. My running lights do not come on in the first detent position, rather i have to pull it out a little past the regular park position. when i pull it out to the headlight position the running lights go out. there is no in-between. there are no issues that I can find with wiring, every park and running light works correctly, all headlights work correctly. Any ideas as to what might be going on? I do have a excellent electrical background but this is something strange to me.

Actually just came back in from finding the problem. The running lights and dash lights are all on the same circuit but 2 separate fuses, number 4 and number 10. 4 was blown. I didnt have a fuse panel diagram and didnt know this. I sure do now and i have a fuse diagram now also. At least i didnt get a ticket for no tail or marker lights. I get off work around midnight and had to drive it home a few nights without tail lights
