oil pan replacement continued
holy geeze i will tell you if you plan on changing the oil pan and gasket on a f-150 4x4 1995 5.0, you better believe you are in for lots of fun. sofar i have spent 18 hrs on it. i had to jack the engine up,remove the air intake horn, remove he exaust pipes, (broke the bolt on the flanges causing more problems), remove both the exaust manifolds,and the transmission cross member.so far the oil pan and gasket are in place and the engine is back down, the cross member is in and now i have to rmove the 2 bolts broken on the flanges tommorow and then install the exaust manifolds. the plus side of it is it only has cost me 181.30 for the air horn gasket,oil pan and the oil pan gasket. a ford mechanic told me it would have cost 1100.00 for them to do it. has anyone taken theirs to a garage? how much did it cost?

oil pan replacement continued
1. Oil Pan Gasket
2. High Volume Oil Pump
3. Clean out sending tube from oil pump to oil screen
4. Rear seal
5. Front seal
Labor and Parts : $ 300.00
A shade tree mechanic did it for me.
Used Napa parts.
