Good day
looking for options besides rat packs or regular tool boxes for back of truck. I had a decked in my other truck but this truck has a rolling cover so decked won’t fit. Was hoping to find something to fit in the tie down pockets area that would keep smaller tool boxes near tailgate so I can access them easily as I do frequently need tools from them.
I don't have a rolling cover but I do currently run a Decked system in my F150 with the 5.5 ft bed. I plan on trying to make this same Decked setup fit in my F250 short box when it arrives. I plan to line the back up the same towards the tailgate and leave the extra open space towards the cab to store larger items. I've see a few pics online of people using this method with the 6.5 ft bed on the F150s. It would allow your rolling cover to fit but may not make the best use of the open space at the front of your cab for your setup. Just an idea.
They make tool boxes that mount under tonneau covers, they appear to be plastic, not sure how good they are. I currently have a 2x4 across the back of the bed in the partition slot and put my tool boxes against it so they stay between the board and the tailgate. Not an ideal set up. I think my tools would be too heavy for swing cases. Watching this thread for ideas.
