The front camera on my ‘17 F250 is HORRIBLE! Extremely blurry to the point of being almost unusable. Am I the only one who’s truck is like this? If it were clear, it would be an amazing option, but it about useless for me.
I bought it used last October and just recently joined the forum and thought I’d ask after using it yesterday and it was so bad. It’s been that way every since I’ve had it.

When looking at the overhead view do you see like a gray shadow(maybe not the best description) at the front of the truck image? Also, when the image quality gets bad you will sometimes find there is a white haze surounding the camera lens. I'm not sure if it's moisture but the only way I know to fix it is by replacing it.
These cameras are pretty famous for getting moisture inside and creating an even worse image than what they came with. The back up camera in my 450 did this. The camera needs to be replaced at your expense or under warranty.
Still unacceptable. From what I’m seeing online, this happens too often and for what these vehicles cost, there’s no excuse for that.
They don't seem to be of very good quality. My front camera started loosing clarity(not that it ever was HD) after only 2 years. It's not as clear as it used to be but still useable. Maybe the aftermarket will come out with a more durable, better quality replacement.

That would be nice. I sure don’t want to spend $250 to replace it and the new one go bad so quickly.
The cameras in my ‘19 are all still actually pretty good. In fact, I was working at the ranch Saturday, had a sun shield up, wanted to move the truck out of the way so I could get the tractor mowing where it was and I literally drive the truck around the yard and parked it in the barn using that front camera so I didn’t have to mess with the sun shield.
My neighbor has a ‘20 150 Lariat with 360 degree cameras as well. His rear camera went bad about three months in, but it was replaced under warranty and has been ok since.
Sorry yours isn’t good, BigRed. Like others said, check for moisture and if possible, negotiate the replacement.
The rear cameras are terrible. I have an 18 with 360 view. The rear in the tailgate was good for a long time and then it progressively got bad anytime the sun was shining towards the tailgate and or at night with any light shining towards the tailgate. Seemed like it had a cloudy look under certain conditions.
Others have had the camera swapped and then all was good. One post said he was at the dealer for about an hour all in.
Went to the dealer over a month ago and the service writer said, yup we'll replace the camera.
Said they have them in stock.
I have the full extended service plan with $200 ded. Ford ESP Premium Care.
Waited 4 weeks and went in this morning. New service writer. First he could not find the appointment and he then proceeds to say they would need the truck for several hours to "pull codes" and then get approval from Ford to move forward. Total bull. Approval to replace a failing camera???
I left - why would I pay the $200 deductible only to find out that they may not cover the repair.
Has anyone replaced the rear camera in the tailgate? Seems like it should be straight forward. I replaced my front one in the grill and it was not too bad.
Is there a different camera part # if you have 360 degree setup? Sure wish someone would come out with an upgraded HD camera.
The replacement camera is about $220 on line and I don't have time to burn hours waiting and going back and forth so I figured I would fix it on my schedule.
