Just joined the forum. I have a 2003 F250 Lariat that I have used in the Coatings buisness for 9 years so it needs work cosmetically🤣
I just replaced the V10 and cleaning her up since I won't be hauling a bunch of crew around like I use to. Since dropping the money on the motor I have decided to keep it.
My 250 is the FX which I have been told came with a 2 inch lift. I have also been told that an FX didn't come with a 2" lift. It definitely sits higher than other standard 250s same yearish as mine.
reason I ask is trying to visualize what my gains would be with a 4" vs a 6" lift??
I have a ton of questions about lift components, wheels and probably alot more but will ask those on another thread.
I do see a block about 2" rear.
so what's yalls thoughts 2003 F250 Lariot Fx4 came with 2" or not?
If it has the block on the rear axle springs it is a two-inch lift. They then tightened the torsion bars to get the front up and level and it was so people could have the wider 16" and 17" wheels and tires with clearance. Think of the old Chevy- Ford commercials about clearance as this was cheap to do.

Thanks. So in my feeble mind I am thinking a 4" lift( new springs front and back) will net me 2 additional inches and a 6 inch will give me 4" additional inches. Am I thinking of this properly?
Your truck body may be higher, but your axle is still the same. You won't gain anything with a body lift as the clearance is still the same on the axles. Your driveshaft will have more of a tilt and will cause you problems. Like the old saying of, if it ant broken comes to mind.

never considered a body lift on this truck. The lift will be suspension lift. Drives shaft will corrected with bracket I am assuming. My Jeep required a SYE and a DC DS. Don't think I need all that though. It ain't broke but the springs are almost 20yrs old and I always wanted to lift it up a bit more than it is.
