96 f250 7.3 5 spd. Has a PHP hydra with stock hydra tunes. Havent driven the truck a lot since I got it. Truck ran fine last summer but set and was only started a couple times till now. Been driving the truck to work lately and it runs fine under 1/4 throttle but past that it acts light it is slightly missing under a load. Will injectors cause this? Buzz test passed. IPR duty cycle was around 40 with pump pressure at 2900 psi in the highest tune. Fuel pressure is good. What else can i check for this issue? Been awhile since ive messed with a 7.3
My 97 started to do this a couple of years after replacing one of the injector wiring plugs to the valve cover. I was in kind of a hurry and got lazy and used butt connectors to do the repair. It started out as a random miss, then progressed to a miss when loaded, then all the time. I removed the butt connectors and soldered the wires and covered the splice with heat shrink tubing, and all is well.
The previous owner had replaced the UDVC harnesses and the pig tails and they did use butt connectors on the new connectors. I will check all of those connections this weekend and may solder them all if I get time.
