Looking for a class 3 hitch

Hi Guys,

I'm the proud 2nd owner or a 1990 Bronco and am frustrated with the selection of hitches! So many of the application charts I've read suggest relocating the spare which I really don't want to do. It's basically a stock bronco with 31's all around, making it a tad too high for the popup I have. I'm looking for a class III that I can bolt up and still leave the spare on the outside rack with the capacity to increase the load if needed.

Any suggestions?

I can't afford a pullrite or Hensley-Arrow!!!

Many thanks

That's interesting..... the first I've heard of the issue of relocating the spare. You sure they're not, perhaps, speaking of an F-Series application that would have the spare located underneath the rear?

I've seen Class III hitches at the parts discounters, and even Wal-Mart. I picked mine up from J.C. Whitney (Hidden Hitch), and have been very happy. No issues with the rear-mounted spare. The biggest issue, if any, is the close fit of the fuel tank to the frame rails. After drilling the holes in the frame, you'll need to fish the hitch retaining bolts up between the tank and the frame. Most I've seen have a piece of wire coiled to wrap around the bolt threads, making it easy enough to fish the bolt around and down through the holes, backing it with a washer and nut from the bottom.

I think the light bulb just turned on!

I'd forgotten about the underneath spare, that must be what they are refering to.
I'll check them out and thanks for the help!!

yea,. the hidden hitch from whitney i jsut installed on my 94, and its a great hitch. 600/6000 lb rating too. They also list the 12,000 lb hithc i believe, but its basically the same, and who knows who makes it. I was able to install the hidden hitch in a couple hours, with limited use of my rt hand at the time.
