She is going to need a bigger steering wheel to get those tires a turning especially when moving slowly. I recall being at a Fun Ford in my F100 and the traffic director wanted me to park "here". I was at a dead stop and there was no room to get the truck moving so I had to wrestle the wheel to turn while he said "tough to turn"? through my window.

it has power steering but I was looking at a nicer wheel already.
Worked on some wiring and replaced the starter. Old one sounded weak when I bypassed the solenoid. Got the motor turning a bit. Not much or fast. Ordered a starter switch pigtail to clean things up. Lots of unused circuits on this harness.

Ok, questions for you FE gurus. I bought a set of 390 GT heads. Didn't realize the exhaust bolt pattern is different. Should I consider drilling the heads to fit standard manifold pattern headers? Drill the header flanges? I got new stainless headers and hate to send them back. Should I just bite the bullet and clean up my stock heads and sell the GT heads?

What is the date code and casting number on the GT heads?
If they are nothing special, then you now have 4 heads exact same, except one set has 14 bolt holes for the exhaust.

I'll have to go look again. These are the only other pics on my phone.

Drilled a few broken bolts before snapping a couple bits and throwing in the towel. Dropped off my original heads yesterday at the machine shop. They should be done tomorrow or Thursday.
Measured my stroke now the heads are off... What does everyone think? Is this 3.5 or 3.75ish? Bores measure 4.05- 4.06. Pistons are marked .030. Do I have a 353 bored to 360 or maybe a 390 like I was originally told? Or some other odd displacement?

4.050 is a standard bore 360/390 But if you've got pistons marked .030 oversized, that would indicate overbore from 4.020" which doesn't make any sense. A 352 overbored .030 would have a 4.030" Bore, not 4.050"

The stroke looks like it's probably 3.78"

So, 390... Ish. Maybe it was a 352 then got a 390 crank when rebuilt and bored?

When you get a chance- clean up the block above the oil filter adapter and take some clear photos. This will help "date" the block and possibly nail down the true original displacement.

Damned if I know. Something doesn't add up, if the bore on the block is 4.050", but the pistons are stamped .030 overbore.

I don't know if somebody got cute stamping the pistons, or if your block started life as a 352, 360, or 390. What you say you've got right now would be the stock bore and stroke of a 390.

Back up on the lift...

Below the adapter. Maybe E11?

Driver side front of block 352

Think this is what you want C7 BIF?

They're all cast with that 352 there, so that part is completely normal. I'm not quite enough of an FE guru to be able to decode the other casting numbers though.
