Super Duty hybrid?

Today I saw an F350 used by a local utility that claimed to be a hybrid (hybrid for a cleaner community).
Does Ford make hybrid Super Duty?

It was a cng truck most likely. Not a hybrid in the sense of electric/gas but cng/gas.

XL Fleet makes a conversion kit, but they don't sell to the general public. Sadly, they only outfit commercial fleets. They make a few kits for F150 and F250s.

Some utility companies, particularly utilities in California, use bucket trucks (aerial lifts) made by Altec which used to be advertised proudly as "Hybrids".

What that meant was that the aerial lift hydraulic system was using energy stored in a battery pack, rather than the engine driven PTO.

This system eliminated the need to keep the truck engine idling to power the PTO to power the wet kit (hydraulic pump) to power the lift bucket.

Some of the so called "Hybrid" bucket trucks had a small gasoline generator on board to charge the battery pack, also in lieu of idling the diesel engine.

Today, Altec no longer calls these trucks "Hybrids", and instead brands them as "Jobsite Energy Management System".

Just guessing here, but they probably received some complaints about the previously misleading misuse of the word "hybrid".

That makes sense.
