When I was 20, I walked into an RC airplane shop. I had always been fascinated with the thought of flying RC airplanes, and finally was able to afford it (at the most basic level).
As I walked around the shop looking at the different airplanes and related equipment an older gentleman behind the counter said to me, “Son, you don’t wanna do this. Why don’t you find a hobby that is much less expensive and much less addictive? Like cocaine!”
I think the same could be said about these old trucks!

This morning I was at a guys shop. By day he owns and operates a garage. He's good and reasonably priced. By night and weekends he and his son race cars.... Micro Midget and bigger. One car he showed me has a small block Chevy in it. It is about 800HP. He told me about a colleague that has a 1000hp car and it only weighs 1200 lbs.
Anyhow I asked him how much one of those tires cost. He said $190. I said Are you breaking even? He laughed and said no. Entry fees are $175 and you have to finish in the top 10 to win that back. And the winner might only her $800.
So it is a hobby that costs money like our trucks are hobbies that cost money.

Well, when I was young, I squandered all my money on girls, trucks, cars, Jeeps, whiskey, horses, and smokes. Damn, if I hadn’t done all that I would now have a bunch of money to squander on girls,trucks, cars, Jeeps. Whiskey, horses and smokes. Olny thing, now I am too damn old to do anything about it! LOL……..Oops, better put a couple boats in there too!!!!

I am working on my pickup and i know some bigger projects are coming up with it. So I made a deal to cut the costs on that, for example cleaning a greasy engine or rear axle. My wife promised me do help me with that 
!!
But you might ask, where is the catch? She will not do that without asking something in return... and that is right. She has 5 horses........So guess who is mucking out the stables on sunday???
I am wondering.... did i made a good deal?
But she pushed me to buy the truck so it is all okay, even if money flies out the window sometimes

In Germany one after another bank is starting to charge you for putting money to your bank account. So you better invest your money in old cars 
. Especially when the environmentalists will lead the next government. Let’s see how long we all still can drive our old trucks and cars before they are banned or the gas prizes start skyrocketing. So let’s enjoy our Hobby as long as we can! Amen
‘Oh, I just forgot: I bought all my vintage cars to have fun and to work on them with my own hands and not in the least to make money out of them. But of course it gives me a save feeling to know that the prices are still rising and so I’ll always get at least the money I put into them. But to be honest, it would break my heart to sell any of them. So I’ll keep them and my kids will own them one day.
