SES light came on

Ok, i am hoping one of you guys can help me. I have a 1/7/03 motor. Has only had a reflash done in april i believe. Has had warm rough idle and romps now and then. has not been a problem. The only mod is a muffler delete. I was comming home tonight, going up a hill. Some where around 2400 rpm's and the truck lost power. It was totally smooth, but seem like it only had about 50 hp. Then the sevice engine light came up. The power slowly came bace to normal. About a mile later, it seem like it had more power than ever. but the ses light is still on. I shut the truck off to see if it would reset, but nothing. light is still on. Is there anything that i can do. I was going to disconnect the battery and see if that reset it. If it does should i just forget about it. Or should i just take it to ford and have it checked out. I kind of need the truck tomarrow, But can do without if i have to. any help would be great. I am going nuts.

Try turning the ignition switch on and off 20 or so times. Should reset. Could be a bad solenoid on the turbo.

you can reset it or leave it on and stop by a dealer and let them take a look at it. i'd have it looked at to see what code it through to turn that light on. if you don't want to take it in, just do like lariat said to turn it off.

I have a 2003 2nd edition 6.0 350 superduty. Was pulling 30ft trailer up a hill and had a pop sound then like a flame out for 3sec and then started running again . The ses light came on then started to run a little hot.I backed out of it a little then it was fine, all gauges good but ses light stayed on till next day.Next day ses light came back on pulling another hill but no other problems. Ses light gone next morning, truck run fine next six days.Comming home pulling hill ses light comes on truck runs fine, next day take to dealer nothing on computer say truck is fine. Month later pulling trailer up hill 50mph step on it top of hill kicks down goes from 3000 t0 3200 rpm and goes boom.I blew the whole side off the intercooler.Dealer replaces intercooler and tells me they dont know what caused it,but reflashes computer.Know truck doesnt seem to have pep like it use to and now getting 13.5 mpg.Reflash was done end of sept. So I think the ses light was saying to much boost and it sounds like i need newest update {oct} .

just thought I would throw that out there see if any buddy else has had intercooler problems? And maybe shed a little light on ses problem

JD,
Well, it sounds to me as though the PCM may be malfunctioning. There should have been a code left, the next day. Seems that there are a few puters that don't work right. Might just happen again, under the right circumstances. Next time push for some new electronics. IF there was an overboost condition, it should have registered. Ask the guys that run boxes. They have to clear the code before service, otherwise the dealer knows about the box. Sorry for your problems.
