Always Something

Yesterdya i was cruising at about 70 mph for about 4 miles from my house down the highway when my truck went into sezures. It didnt start missing but tried to die like the fuel pump was going out so i worked it like a jack rabbit and after a minute or two it leveled out ran fine for the next 2 miles till i stoped to go in the store I was in the store 30 minutes came out And got on the highway truck ran great after about 2 miles at 70 it went to trying to die only worse i barely kept it at speed this time it lasted 2 mins or better so i pulled on the feeder road and kept it at 50 it ran fine . I then put 3 or 4 bottles of alchoal thinking since it was raining myabe water could have got in the gas becuase i just put 10 gallons of conoco gas any body have an idea what it could be ? It runs fine in town the truck is a 85 f150 300 with the four speed .

Sounds like you got some dirt in your carb. May be time for a rebuild. If you are at all mechanicaly inclined you can get a kit for about $15.00, a bucket of cleaner and make a day of it.

Had the same thing happen to me this summer. Changed my fuel filter, when i took it off and shook it you could hear the rust garbage rattle arround that it picked up from my gas tank most likely. Haven't had a problem since.
