2002 Excursion XLT, 315/75r16 with 4" block lift. I got alignment cause steering wheel was not centered when going straight down road which they fixed. They said the front right camber is out of specs and is not adjustable but can use an adjustable ball joint.
So my questions are is this even a issue (i am no pro)? Could something else cause this.. I will be tearing into the brakes (changing rotors) so any areas of concern? Last if it just needs adjustable ball joint has anyone used one and know a part number? Thanks.
There are adjustable or fixed camber/caster bushings or wfo shims for caster.
Looks like set the toe and go. I found a local shop that specializes in offroad trucks and gave the the specs after i got it close with a digital. Pirate has posted the specs on here.
Ok talked to a couple of shops and the camber they are not worried about. Said its not that far off and with the big tires it will actually correct this. They said its more of an issue with low profile tires with little give. Anyways not going to worry about it, rig drives well down the road.
But i do have another question that i dont want to post a new thread about. I changed out all rotors/pads and noticed the front clipper anchor bolts where surprising easy to get loose (all but one). So just want to triple check my torques..
-1* of camber will actually improve cornering so I wouldn’t be concerned with the actual camber, What I would be concerned with is what caused the camber, it can be your unit bearing about to fail or a worn out ball joint. That or someone slammed a curb and bent the axle at some point in the past.
More detail would be needed, like part numbers or pictures of parts. I am guessing that unit bearing is wheel bearing and ball joints are the top and bottom bolts of the wheel hub housing??
