Sounds like you got a 6.0 radiator vice a 7.3 one. The top tank is larger and the brackets are different to accommodate the larger top tank of th 6.0 (degas bottle and its mounting location are different too as a result).

What did you buy and where did you buy it, and can you return it?

This is the one i bought, no fitment issues, it fit the brackets more snugly that the stock rad, but not in any negative way, bolted right in, and has been rocking with my new engine without a single issue.

Why?

unless the coolant gets junk in it, the radiator should be just fine, right up until a seam leaks.

I just bought a Murray radiator thru O'Reilly auto.
it will be installed this week by my mechanic.

after the water pump locked up solid, I decided that with almost 200k on the truck, that I would just replace everything that spins and the radiator.

it had ELC in it, and no junk floating in the DeGas tank.... ELC going back in it.

OEM, OEM, OEM. Nuf said!

If I were to go anything other than OEM, I'd opt for Mishimoto. Unfortunately I had to go with a Denso since my repair shop wouldn't allow me to bring my own part in and the OEM Ford they quoted me $700. It's a $500 part if I bout it myself. So far the Denso has been trouble free. As for Mishimoto, I just had a transmission cooler installed last week and not only is the quality top notch, they give a lifetime warranty.

I bought an XDP, looks like OEM, works just fine. Mishimoto failed on me, coolant started leaking around the transmission cooler fittings.
