Glow plug maintenance?

Asking for a friend, but he's looking to buy a 2018 F250 and the seller told him he needed to do glow plug maintenance annually. What is that all about? Never heard of that before. I'm use to, change them out when they go bad. Is this something that needs to get done every year and if so what does it involve? Or is he just talking out his azz. TIA

Rob

I have not heard anyone do maintenance on glow plugs. My truck is 7 years old and I have not done anything to mine.

Never heard of any maintenance for glow plugs. I just wait for the dash light to go out before starting when it's cold out.

The funny thing is he told me it's a Ford dealer used car lot. So I think the guy used to sell Chevy's.

And exhaust bearings, don't forget those or you'll end up stranded!

dont forget to filter the water you use to wash the truck...it will prevent water spots.

My previous truck was a 2013 Duramax... no glow plug maintenance on it, either.

I'm really surprised nobody makes an additive for this.

No need to... it's already in the fuel.

This whole thread is wierd. What is there to clean? Thr glow plugs reach 1000+ degrees instantly. Anything on them is burned off immediately.
