Gauge cluster access and codes
Well I learn something new every day with my 2005 F250 Super Duty XL 4x4. (Had it for 12 years, sheesh)
I've yet to confirm my issue with the gauge cluster and associated antics but did check some grounds (they were solid) and found a post that listed the location of some other ground points.
One that I need to check for sure is the ground behind the drivers side kick panel.
I also found more than one company that does cluster refurbishments but if that's the avenue I take will probably stick with circuitboard medic.com.
Unless someone has a compelling reason to use another company.
Anyway, I learned something new tonight and tried it out.
When holding the trip meter button and turning on the key you get into a whole new set of info for diagnostics.
I stumbled across this after someone said how to access it to do a sweep gauge test.
Now I've found there is a boat load of codes that are alpha numeric with values following each one.
Does anyone have that information as to what they are telling?
I have the factory service manuals volume 1 and 2 but have discovered there's much more info in other volumes that I don't have.
Can someone enlighten me with what the codes are and values they represent.
I'm intrigued by this and a bit terrified that I got into something I don't know anything about.
But may have stumbled across something helpful, don't know.
Again thanks for any input or comments.
Regards,
Bob
